An evening at the Green Heron is the perfect antidote in the aftermath of Thanksgiving with the family. Plan a day trip or overnight stay around Hanging Rock to work off your Thanksgiving dinner. You’ll find a list of places to stay on this page of the Hanging Rock tourism siteĀ It’s a reasonable drive from several places, from Pilot Mt/Mt Airy/Westfield/Pinacle/King to Summerfield/StokeRidge/Oak Ridge, to Winston Salem, or Greensboro. Well worth it, too. The back deck looks over the Dan river, and it’s a great room for music. You can bring your own food or order from a nearby restaurant, and enjoy a micro brew beer or glass of local wine from the bar. The crowd is always fun and friendly. We play from 8-11 (working people’s hours!). John Marler and Calvin Johnson will be my Hillbillies for the evening. Dancing encouraged.
